Which stunt scooter is good for a child?
We choose a scooter as a gift
Why is it worth giving a child a scooter? Let's start with practical reasons: a scooter is a reusable gift. It is suitable even for a very small child. However, let's not forget that we choose this vehicle mainly based on the child's height and weight.
The advantage of scooters in general is that they "grow" with the user. But of course up to a certain upper limit set by the manufacturer. Scooters intended for children can usually be adjusted in the range of 80-150 cm in height. The maximum is usually the height of a 9-10 year old child. If we have already decided that a scooter will be a Christmas or Santa Claus gift, we have taken the first step. The scooter can be a traditional two-wheeler, it can be used for learning and have three wheels, or it can be used only for performing stunts - the so-called stunt scooters. The choice of variants is considerable. Much depends on the age and therefore on the skills of the future "driver" of the scooter.
For a good start... a tricycle
A scooter on three wheels is basically intended for children or people who are learning to ride. Similar to learning to ride a bicycle with small side wheels that allow you to keep your balance, a three-wheeled scooter does exactly the same thing, and the child concentrates on moving, i.e. lifting the foot off the ground. There is a reason why this type of vehicle is called a balance scooter. It accustoms the child from the very beginning to kick the ground alternately - once with the right foot, once with the left. Then riding a scooter becomes not only fun, but also a workout for the whole body. These types of scooters are often colorful - some models even have LED wheels that light up while driving, which makes the little ones fun and encourages them to use them. With this and any other scooter, it is advisable to include additional accessories with such a gift to ensure safety, i.e. a helmet and protectors.
Traditional two-wheeler
When to buy a traditional scooter? Certainly, if the child's height exceeds the height indicated for users of three-wheeled scooters (usually it is about 150 cm). We can also choose it if we know that a young person already knows how to ride a bicycle - which is equivalent to being able to keep his balance while riding. The two-wheeled scooter is a classic, "contemporary" device for children and adults. When giving such a device to the former, it is good to be aware of its capabilities. If we are thinking about giving such a scooter to a younger child, it is worth paying attention to the deck - a low-placed deck (about 8 cm from the ground) will allow a comfortable ride for younger users. The bearings are also important - the higher the ABEC class, the better, and the wheels - the larger, the faster we will go. So let's think about whether our potential user can manually cope, for example, with braking a scooter that is going too fast. For this, devices of this type are equipped with shock absorbers that absorb shocks while driving. The advantage of these scooters is usually the three-stage steering wheel adjustment, which allows them to be used by both teenagers (i.e. people from about 140 cm in height) and adults (up to about 185 cm in height). This means that such a gift can successfully become a gift for the whole family.
Stunt scooters for advanced riders
There are a few invariable elements that should be considered before buying both types of scooters. Among other things, we should pay attention to the design and type of wheels (including the width of three-wheelers) and brakes (in electric scooters for the youngest, a double braking system is valuable, i.e. E-ABS and a mechanical brake), and in the case of those with a drive, the time and efficiency of the electric scooter operation on a single charge. This is largely influenced by the frequency of use and the weight of the user.
Although most electric scooters are two-wheeled devices, we have an exception here. Movino Easy Go is a three-wheeled device and therefore it is stable even in the initial phase. The speeds it develops - 6 km/h for younger children and 10 km/h for older children - correspond to the fast walking of an adult human. For safety reasons, it has two brakes: foot and hand brakes, and the batteries allow it to travel 5 to 7 km on a single charge. It takes about 4 hours to charge. The device is light - it weighs just over 3.5 kg and is manageable.
This type of device - the electric scooters - does not need to be registered anywhere to be allowed to use it. However, it should be noted that it cannot be used on public roads. And of course, we must not forget the additional equipment such as a helmet and protectors.
A scooter - whether traditional or electric - is always a good prelude to driving more advanced devices such as a bicycle, Segway, etc.
