Stunt scooters are a new chapter in skate subculture and extreme sports. Skate parks, previously reserved for skateboards, BMX and inline skates, began to fill up with young riders on low-suspended two-wheelers. In the beginning, "normal" scooters were used, but their durability did not allow for much, so over time, constructions specially prepared for tricks took their place.Stunt scooters - in search of new experiencesMore and more young people are choosing to replace the city scooter with one suitable for stunts. Actually, not just young people! In skate parks we can see riders of all ages. In our stunt scooter shop at Movino you can find reliable models such as Tyro or X-Core, loved by advanced riders, including the Movino ProScooters team. The scooter has become more than just a means of transport to get from point A to B. The stunt scooter allows for an adrenaline rush in the form of tricks, jumps and evolutions.Stunt scooters have had certain elements removed that are absolutely unnecessary for tricks and would even cause problems when performing them. They are designed to withstand loads. Thanks to the greater stability of the structure, the two-wheeler becomes lighter and more reliable in the skate park or during street riding.Structure of a Movino stunt scooterUnlike a conventional scooter, a stunt scooter cannot be folded up. In addition, the one-piece handlebar is firmly screwed on, so height adjustment is not possible - and that's a good thing! As a result, stunt scooters have a sturdier and more durable structure that is more resistant to damage. Comfortable acrobatics are made possible by the ability to rotate the handlebar 360 degrees, while its Y-shape ensures safety.Another important difference is the compression system - in simpler terms, the elements that connect the handlebars to the deck. Traditional scooters use a threaded connection. In stunt models, new solutions were sought, which gave rise to compression systems such as IHC and SCS, which replaced threaded systems and introduced a higher standard of ride quality and strength. The IHC and SCS compression systems, which include the headset, compression screw, sleeve, clamp and a properly closed fork, are characterized by a stable connection between the deck and the handlebars and the smoothness of rotation, which directly affects the execution of tricks such as the barspin or tailwhip.Stunt scooters also have smaller wheels than city scooters. These models use wheels with a diameter of 100 mm to 120 mm. The larger ones are chosen by more advanced riders, the smaller ones are recommended for beginners. Bearings are also important, their quality affects the speed and fluidity of the ride. The quality of the bearings is determined by the ABEC scale, which includes five classes: 1,3,5,7,9. The higher the number, the higher the quality and the smoother and faster the ride.It is worth paying attention to the material the stunt scooter is made of. Every rider wants their stunt scooter to be lightweight while maintaining the highest possible durability. Steel scooters have gradually been replaced by those with aluminum decks and forks, and some parts, like the handlebars, are even made of titanium.Read our blog to find out what you need to look out for in order to get your hands on a good stunt scooter.Which stunt scooter? The basic question that a stunt scooter user has to ask themselves is where it will be ridden (skate park or street). Also crucial is the adjustment to your height (so that the handlebars are not too high), the weight and the size of the scooter. You don't have to look far! Movino stunt scooters offer beginners and advanced riders proven IHC and SCS compression systems, high-quality aluminum and steel components - in characteristic, recognizable patterns and colors! Don't forget to take proper care of them! If there is major wear and tear, screws and nuts must be tightened. Worn or damaged scooter parts must be replaced. In our shop you can find new parts for your vehicle. If you need support, please contact our service, who will try to find solutions to all problems. The stunt scooter does not like moisture, water and sand. Don't forget to clean it - the stunt scooter should be thoroughly cleaned after each use, but we clean the wheels from time to time.
